American Termapest, Inc. is a 4th-generation, family-owned termite and pest control company that has serviced Greenville, Greenwood, and the Upstate areas since 1955. We offer complete termite, pest management, and moisture control treatments and services for residential, commercial, and institutional properties.

Our History
1955
Efird’s Exterminating was founded by J. T. Cordell, Sr., and his wife, Willie. The business started in their home, and by 1962 they had opened an office.
1972
Efird’s Exterminating was renamed American Termapest when J. T. Sr. and Willie’s son Jim took over shortly after their retirement in the early 1970s.
1990
Chad Reese joined the company, representing the third generation involved in the business.
2019
Hunter Reese joined the company as the fourth generation of their family to be in the business. After nearly five decades of service, Jim retired, and Chad took over as President.

Highly recommend! Hunter has performed routine pest/termite control services in addition to exterminating very aggressive yellow jackets. Hunter came out to my house the same day (after 5 pm!) to exterminate yellow jackets. He genuinely cares about his customers and wants to take care of their concerns in an extremely timely and professional manner. In addition to insect extermination around the perimeter of our house, William treats our 4 patios/porches (including our screened porch), and he uses a long-handled brush to remove insect debris from the porch ceilings and other outer surfaces where insect debris collects. We also appreciate having the same technician come to our home each visit, and it’s been the same person over a several-year period.
