About American Termapest

Our History

Yes, we are an experienced pest management company you can trust. We have been in business over 65 years serving customers like yourself. Our company was founded in 1955 by J. T. Cordell, Sr. and his wife Willie. The business started in their home and by 1962 they had opened the office that still served us until 2019. They both worked in the business until retirement in the early 1970’s. The company was originally named Efird’s Exterminating and was renamed American Termapest in 1972, when son Jim took over. In 1990, Chad Reese joined the company, representing the third generation involved in the business.

In 2019, many changes too place. Hunter Reese joined the company as a fourth generation of family to be in the business. Our office moved to a new location at 503 Old Abbeville Hwy in Greenwood. After nearly five decades of service, Jim retired and Chad has taken over as President.
